Camping

We will be camping at the Lake of Two Rivers Campground and are recommending our guests do the same. Mew Lake is also nearby the venue and has similar infrastructure. Both campgrounds are connected by a bicycle trail.

Ontario Parks online booking system

Please note that August in the park is PEAK SEASON! For those staying in the park, bookings through Ontario Parks online booking system opens 5 months prior to the date you are booking. Please be diligent in booking your site ASAP.

Hotels

For those guests who prefer not to camp, we have reserved a block of rooms at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Huntsville, which can be booked by asking for the “West-Vander Voort Wedding.” Rooms are a 2-night minimum. The Holiday Inn Express & Suites Huntsville is 80km (approx 58 minutes) away from our venue and we are offering return transportation by bus to our wedding ceremony and beach party. All park entry fees will be covered for those travelling, using our charted bus.

For those wishing to stay in a Hotel, we suggest you book your accommodations ASAP, since our wedding is in the shoulder of “peak season” at the Park.

There are many other accommodations you can choose from, in and outside of the park.

Transportation

We have chartered a 72 passenger bus – the “West Express” to offer our guests’ return transportation between our wedding/reception venue and two locations.

1. Charter Transportation within Algonquin Park (ALL CAMPERS): Campers will be provided with return transportation to and from the Lake of Two Rivers Campground’s main gate.

2. Charter Transportation to Hotel in Huntsville: We are providing return bus transportation to and from the Holiday Inn in Huntsville.

Special Notes

• Please note that if you stay at an alternative location outside of the park, you will need to purchase a day pass ($17.00/car, based on 2018 fees) upon entering the park.
• There are no taxi services within the Park, so if you plan on staying elsewhere and are not using our transportation offered, please ensure you have a Designated Driver!
• No vehicles can be left overnight at the wedding venue.

Wedding Gifts

Each and every person we’ve invited to attend our wedding was chosen because they have contributed to our lives and because we believe our day will be made better by their presence.

We acknowledge that travel or attendance may not be possible for all. We understand these circumstances and will be sorry to miss you.

We also understand that some of our invited guests may wish to demonstrate their excitement for us, through a gift. If you do wish to give us a gift, we would appreciate funds towards making our wedding party the most happening place in Algonquin Park! This way, we can share your thoughtfulness with all of the people we care about!
